Bhojpuri star and BJP MP Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, has sparked a new debate with his bold comments on the language controversy in Maharashtra. While promoting his film Hamar Naam Ba Kanhaiya, Nirahua openly criticised the pressure to speak Marathi, calling it “dirty politics.”
During a media interaction, he challenged political leaders in the state. He said, “Dam hai to humko Maharashtra se nikal kar dikhao. Agar Marathi nahi bol, main nahi bolta hoon Marathi, mujhe nikal kar dikhao. Koi bhi neta ko khula challenge deta hoon ki agar tumhare andar dam hai to main Marathi nahi bolta hoon. Maharashtra se nikal kar dikhao.”
Nirahua Aka Dinesh Lal Yadav Defends Language Freedom In Maharashtra
Nirahua made it clear that he respects all Indian languages, including Marathi, but does not support forcing anyone to speak a specific one. He said, “Marathi is a beautiful language. So is Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, and every other language in India. People should learn what they want. But no one should be targeted if they can’t.”
The actor-politician also called for an end to divisive politics. He warned, “The people who do this, I’d like to tell them that this is dirty politics. This should not happen in any part of the country. The ones engaging in such dirty politics must refrain from doing so and exercise caution.”
Nirahua also added, “I am also a politician and I believe that politics should be in favour of people’s welfare, not to exploit them. If someone wants to learn five different languages, then go for it.”
The Mira Road Incident That Triggered It All
Nirahua’s strong statement comes shortly after a viral incident in Mira Road, where Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers attacked a restaurant owner for not speaking Marathi. The shocking video drew widespread criticism on social media.
Actor Ranvir Shorey also condemned the act by tweeting, “This is sickening. Monsters on the loose, looking for attention and political relevance. Where’s law and order?”
