Mahesh Bhatt undergoes angioplasty, son Rahul Bhatt shares update

Mahesh Bhatt: Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has undergone a heart surgery. He had gone to a nearby hospital for routine check up last week where doctors told him he needed a surgery. Doctors performed angioplasty on Mahesh and now he is recuperating.

The surgery was conducted four days ago. Confirming the news, Mahesh's son Rahul Bhatt said that his father was admitted to the hospital earlier this week where he underwent a heart surgery. However, he added that Mahesh was discharged from hospital and is recovering fast at home.

‘All's well that ends well’

"But all's well that ends well. He is alright now and back home. I cannot give you more details as too many people were not allowed in the hospital," he added.

Mahesh Bhatt became a grandfather in November last year after daughter Alia Bhatt with Ranbir Kapoor gave birth to baby daughter Raha. Mahesh welcomed the news with excitement as Raha is the first grandchild in the family. Alia had hosted an intimate baby shower that saw her and Ranbir’s close family and friends in attendance. The parents-to-be were joined by Neetu Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Shaheen Bhatt and many more.

1920: Horrors of Heart

Meanwhile, Mahesh Bhatt is all set for his upcoming project 1920: Horrors of Heart. He has written the film and it will feature Avika Gor, who grabbed everyone’s attention with her performance in Balika Vadhu. Avika makes her debut in Bollywood with 1920: Horrors of Heart. Apart from Avika Gor, the movie will also see Randheer Rai in a key role. The film

is produced by Vikram Bhatt and directed by his daughter Krishna Bhatt.
