Main Vaapas Aaunga trailer has finally arrived, and it promises an emotional story filled with love, heartbreak, separation and memories of Partition that refuse to fade with time. The trailer introduces audiences to a deeply personal journey that stretches across nearly eight decades. Featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari and Vedang Raina in key roles, the film blends past and present through a non-linear narrative rooted in the emotional wounds of the 1947 India-Pakistan Partition.
What’s In Main Vaapas Aaunga Trailer?

Soon, the story shifts to pre-Partition India, where Vedang Raina appears as the younger version of Naseeruddin Shah’s character. He falls deeply in love with Sharvari’s character and the two dream of a future together. However, their love story gets shattered when Partition forces families to separate and migrate across borders.

Imtiaz Ali Calls The Story Personal And Emotional
Speaking about the film, Imtiaz Ali shared that the story holds deep emotional meaning for him. The filmmaker explained how stories of Partition passed down by older generations inspired the narrative.
He said, “What have we left behind? What is the love that we carried in our hearts when we crossed the river of time?”
He further added, “Main Vaapas Aaunga is a personal story of love and longing which remained in someone’s heart for 78 years after the partition of the country. It is also an echo of hundreds of stories that I heard from the veteran generation that has seen partition with their own eyes.”
The film also brings together an acclaimed creative team behind the scenes. The music has been composed by A. R. Rahman, while the lyrics are penned by Irshad Kamil.
The screenplay is written by Imtiaz Ali and Nayanika Mahtani. Going by the trailer, the film appears to combine emotional storytelling with soulful music and visually rich storytelling.
