Adivi Sesh reacts to Richa Chadha’s Galwan Tweet

Adivi Sesh, who played Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, a victim of the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks, in the biographical action film Major, has responded to the entire situation by saying that reading Richa Chadha’s tweet hurt him.

The actor said, “Working on Major gave me a perspective on the Armed Forces that I didn’t have before. I’d respected their valour and had seen videos but nothing prepared me for the emotional impact of knowing the true stories of our soldiers, stories I witnessed when I was researching Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s life. Any comment that is reductive toward our Armed Forces is both insensitive and irresponsible. I don’t know how she intended it, but it hurts to read. Jai Hind.”

Richa Chadha’s Statement

In her statement, Richa Chadha mentioned she had no intention and to offend or hurt anyone. “Even though it can never be my intention in the least, if the 3 words which are being dragged into a controversy have offended or hurt anyone, I apologise and also say that it would sadden me if even unintentionally my words have triggered this feeling in my brothers in the Fauj of which my own Nanaji has been an illustrious part. As a Lt. Col, he took a bullet in the leg in the Indo-China war, in 1960s. My Mamaji was a paratrooper. It’s in my blood,” her tweet read.
