The Marathi film and TV world is in shock after the sudden death of actor and writer Tushar Ghadigaonkar. The 32-year-old reportedly died by suicide, with those close to him saying he had been battling mental stress and facing a lack of work.

Originally from Kankavali in Maharashtra, Tushar began his career through college theatre at Mumbai’s Ruparel College. Friends called him “Ghadya,” and he became known for his versatile performances in Man Kasturi Re, Clove Mirchi, Unad, Zombivli, Hey Man Bawre, and Sangeet Bibat Akhyan. He also featured in Hindi commercials and music videos under his label Ghanta Naad Production.
Tushar directed the Marathi show Tuzi Mazi Yari. But sources close to him said the stress of finding consistent work and the industry’s uncertainty took a toll on his mental health. He quietly stepped away from acting, which surprised many of his colleagues and friends.
