Mardaani 3 Review: Rani Mukerji is back on the big screen as tough cop Shivani Shivaji Roy, but early reactions suggest Mardaani 3 may not have lived up to expectations. The film was released in theatres a week after Sunny Deol’s Border 2 and opened to a muted response. Advance bookings were low, and initial word of mouth has been mixed to negative.

Directed by debutant Abhiraj Minawala, Mardaani 3 tries to take the franchise in a darker direction. This time, Shivani is part of the National Investigation Agency and is chasing a child-trafficking network. The case begins after two young girls are kidnapped, including the daughter of an Indian ambassador. Mallika Prasad plays the antagonist Amma, who is shown running a racket involving beggars and trafficked children.

While the premise sounds intense, many viewers feel the film struggles to hold attention beyond its early moments.

Mardaani 3 Review: What Viewers Are Saying Online

An influencer who watched the film shared his Mardaani 3 review. He said that it feels far weaker than the first two parts. According to him, Rani Mukerji’s entry scene is powerful and easily one of the highlights. He also felt the first half stays engaging and even offers a strong interval twist that surprises the audience.

However, he pointed out that the second half undoes much of the good work. The story becomes predictable and starts feeling like a routine crime TV show. He added that the climax lacks impact and that the villains do not leave a strong impression, especially when compared to the memorable antagonists from earlier films.

Another viewer had similar thoughts and called the film the weakest in the franchise. According to this reaction, the storyline feels outdated and lacks freshness. The investigation does not create tension, and many scenes feel repetitive. The viewer also felt that loud background music is used to create intensity, but it fails to add real emotional depth.

Despite these issues, both viewers agreed that Rani Mukerji remains the film’s biggest strength. Her performance as Shivani Shivaji Roy is sincere and commanding, even when the writing lets her down.
