Mark Box Office Collection Day 2: Kiccha Sudeep’s Mark has hit a rough patch at the box office after a promising start. The Kannada action thriller, which released in theatres on December 25, opened to decent numbers but saw a sharp fall on Day 2. The sudden drop has raised concerns about the film’s long-term prospects, especially after mixed word of mouth.
After the success of Max last year, expectations were high from Sudeep’s reunion with director Vijay Kartikeyaa. The buzz around Mark helped it post a strong opening on Christmas Day. However, the momentum did not last beyond the first day.
Mark Box Office Collection Day 2 Takes A Big Hit
Mark earned Rs 8.57 crore on Day 1 in India net collections, which gave the film a solid base. Most of this came from the original Kannada version, which contributed Rs 8.57 crore. The Tamil dubbed version added only Rs 0.03 crore, showing limited traction outside Karnataka.
On Day 2, the situation changed sharply. The film collected only Rs 3.5 crore, registering a massive 59 per cent drop from its opening day. This means Mark failed to earn even half of its Day 1 numbers. The fall is being linked to mixed reviews and average audience feedback, which seem to have slowed footfalls quickly.
After two days, Mark stands at Rs 12.1 crore in India net collections. At the worldwide box office, the film has earned Rs 14.35 crore so far. While the numbers are not disastrous, the steep decline so early in its run is worrying for a film mounted on a big scale.
Mark released alongside another Kannada film, 45, which marked music composer Arjun Janya’s directorial debut. Starring Shivarajkumar, Raj B Shetty and Upendra, 45 opened with Rs 5.5 crore on Day 1. However, it too saw a dip, collecting Rs 2 crore on Day 2. The film’s total collection currently stands at Rs 7.50 crore.
With both films seeing drops after the opening day, it is clear that audience turnout softened after the Christmas holiday. For Mark, this is a bigger concern given its higher expectations and budget.

About The Film
Directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa, Mark is a high-octane Kannada action thriller. Kiccha Sudeep plays Ajay Markandeya IPS, an honest police officer suspended for taking a strong stand against corruption. Working under the alias “Mark,” he takes on a dangerous mission involving a powerful politician, a drug network, and a series of child abductions.
The story unfolds as a tense race against time, with Markandeya given just 36 hours to connect the dots and deliver justice. Sudeep appears in a familiar cop avatar, which has been a draw for his fans.
The film also stars Shine Tom Chacko as the antagonist Adikeshava, with Naveen Chandra in a key role. The supporting cast includes Yogi Babu, Guru Somasundaram, Nishvika Naidu and Deepshika. Music by B Ajaneesh Loknath has been widely praised and is seen as one of the film’s highlights.
Mark is produced under Kiccha Creations and is reportedly made on a budget ranging between Rs 25 crore and Rs 65 crore, depending on sources. Sudeep is said to have received Rs 15 crore as his fee for acting and co-producing the film.
With such a sharp Day 2 drop, all eyes are now on the weekend. The coming days will decide whether Mark can stabilise or continue to slide at the box office.
