Mark Box Office Collection Day 5: Kiccha Sudeep’s Mark has completed its first five days at the box office. The Kannada action thriller started on a strong note. However, the film failed the crucial Monday test. A sharp drop in collections has now raised concerns about its long-term run.
Mark was released in cinemas on December 25 during the Christmas holiday window. The festive period helped the film draw audiences initially. It also benefited from Sudeep’s strong fan base. Still, stiff competition from other regional releases affected its weekday momentum. While the weekend numbers looked promising, the film saw a big drop on Monday.
Mark Box Office Collection Day 5
As per box-office tracker Sacnilk, Mark earned around Rs 1.15 cr on Day 5, which was Monday. This marked a massive 66% drop from Sunday’s Rs 3.4 cr collection. Due to this sharp fall, the film narrowly missed crossing the Rs 20 cr mark in India. With slightly better hold, the milestone could have been achieved within five days.
Mark Box Office Collection Day 5
| Day | India Net Collection |
|---|---|
| Day 1 [1st Thursday] | Rs 8.6 cr |
| Day 2 [1st Friday] | Rs 3.2 cr |
| Day 3 [1st Saturday] | Rs 3.2 cr |
| Day 4 [1st Sunday] | Rs 3.4 cr |
| Day 5 [1st Monday] | Rs 1.15 cr |
| Total (Day 1–5) | Rs 19.51 cr net |
The table clearly shows the trend. Day 1 delivered the biggest number. But collections dropped sharply on Day 2. The film managed to stay flat over the weekend. The real concern came on Monday, when footfalls fell steeply. This suggests weakening audience interest after the initial rush.
Another Kannada release, 45, also hit theatres around the same time. The film stars Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra, and Raj B Shetty. Like Mark, it too saw a drop on Day 5. However, 45 managed to cross the Rs 12 cr mark within five days.
The comparison highlights a key difference. While Mark opened with higher numbers, its weekday hold is weaker. 45 showed better stability during its first working week. This steadier trend has helped it stay afloat despite mixed word of mouth.
Weekday drops are common for big releases. Still, a 66% fall on Monday is steep by any standard. It indicates that casual audiences may have moved on quickly. This makes the road to Rs 20 cr tougher for Mark. The film could still reach the milestone, but it will need strong weekend growth and positive audience buzz.
Fans had high expectations from Mark, especially given Sudeep’s action-hero image. So far, the box-office data suggests the film is struggling to maintain its early momentum.
