Former actress Meghan Markle has discussed how her life was turned upside down when she started seeing her husband, Britain's Prince Harry, in 2016. She did this in her new docuseries, Harry & Meghan. As soon as the information was made public in late 2016, Meghan was the focus of considerable media investigation. Meghan recalled an incident in 2017 while filming the TV show Suits in Canada, in which she complained to police about paparazzi stalking her but was refused assistance.
Meghan Markle was shooting in Toronto
She was in Toronto filming for the hit television programme Suits at the time. She was performing a minor role. Her production team claims that they had to cage the entire area because paparazzi constantly attempted to enter the sets and trailers. Meghan was frequently followed by a lot of photographers in their cars. When reminded of this, Meghan remarked, "I would argue to the police that if any other lady in Toronto said to you right now, I have six grown guys sleeping in their cars surrounding my house and following me everywhere that I go and I feel afraid, wouldn't you say that it was stalking.
And they'd say, 'but there's nothing we can do because look who you're dating.'" Meghan said she did get security, but only after the situation got worsened. Then, she continued, "I received a death threat, and things changed because I needed to have security."

Meghan revealed how her family and friends frequently worried about her and questioned whether dating Harry was worth the hassle. "When all of that began to happen, my friends and the people I care about and who love me said, 'Is he worth this?'" Meghan stated. Meghan and Harry claimed that they persevered and stayed in touch in order to get out of the problem.
