Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner and popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav has once again opened up about the endless controversies surrounding him. In a candid chat with Pinkvilla, Elvish admitted that the negativity does affect him and often makes him wonder if being famous is a crime in today’s world.

Elvish Yadav On Coping With Fame And Hate

The digital star revealed how fame has changed his life in ways he never imagined. Elvish shared, “Farak padta hai. Roz sochta hu joh chize kari nahi hai voh chize karni padh rahi hai (It affects me. Every day I think about how I am having to do things I never intended to)."

He confessed that the pressure of being constantly watched gets overwhelming. The YouTuber added, “Mai kabhi kabhi sochta hu ‘Itna famous hona gunaah hai ho gaya kya? Mere se bhi toh famous log hai voh khush hai, mere sath aisa kyu hai (Sometimes I wonder ‘Is being this famous a crime now?’ Did I do something wrong? There are people even more famous than me, and they seem happy. Why is it happening to me?)."

When asked how he deals with this constant mental stress, Elvish explained his coping mechanism. He said, “Kabhi kabhi sochta hu fir sochta hu sochke kya hi ho jaayega. Toh mat hi socho. Bas yahi hai (I think about it sometimes, then I think what’s the point of thinking? So I stop. That’s just how it is)."

Elvish Yadav’s Controversial Past

Elvish Yadav has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons since his Bigg Boss OTT 2 win. In 2024, his name was dragged into the infamous Noida snake venom case. The YouTuber was arrested by Noida Police for his alleged involvement in the supply of snake venom at rave parties. A case was filed under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, along with criminal conspiracy charges under Section 120B of the IPC.

Reports later claimed that Elvish had admitted to the charges during questioning. However, he was granted bail a week later on a Rs 50,000 bond.

Adding to his woes, the social media star also received an extortion threat of Rs 1 crore while he was in London. According to reports, Elvish got a long WhatsApp message warning him to pay up or face dire consequences. A case was lodged following the threat.

Earlier this year, Elvish faced severe backlash for making racist and insensitive remarks against Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chum Darang. In a viral video, he called her “vulgar” and mocked her name. The National Commission for Women (NCW) soon intervened and summoned him to issue a public apology.

Despite these controversies, Elvish continues to enjoy massive popularity on social media.
