Met Gala 2023: Natasha Poonawalla steals the show in edgy outfit, celebs call the look ‘seriously brilliant’

Met Gala 2023: Desi girls slayed it at fashion world’s biggest night Met Gala 2023 in New York. While Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Isha Ambani owned the red carpet, it was Met gala veteran Natasha Poonawalla brought oodles of glamour in an edgy Schiaparelli gown.

The theme of this year’s Met Gala is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty” – in tribute to the late Chanel designer who died in 2019. Natasha’s gown was a subtle tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette, with the bodice soaring up at the edges to mimic a cat’s ears.

‘Seriously brilliant’

Businesswoman and philanthropist Natasha shared photos on her Insta page and wowed uber-stylists Anaita Shroff Adajania. The latter posted fire emojis in the comments thread of Natasha’s Instagram post. Ami Patel wrote “Seriously brilliant.”

Natasha Poonawalla has been a regular at Met Gala over the years now. This is her fourth year at the event. Last year, she made a stunning appearance in a Sabyasachi saree topped with a gold breastplate-like corset that rose up to encase her head.

Natasha also attended the Met Gala in 2019 and 2018, but wore less dramatic looks.

Alia, who was making her debut appearance at the event, wore a white Prabal Gurung dress encrusted with pearls and inspired by a 1992 Chanel bridal look modelled by Claudia Schiffer. Priyanka was escorted by husband Nick Jonas and wore black Valentino. This was her fourth appearance at the Met Gala. She made her debut with Nick Jonas in 2017. Isha Ambani, attending the Met Gala for the third year, also wore Prabal Gurung – a black saree gown.
