South superstar Naga Chaitanya has finally broken his silence on the failure of his Bollywood debut film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and also revealed why he agreed to act in the film. The actor disclosed that the reason for being a part of that film was to act alongside Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan and learn from him. Aamir was playing the titular role in the film and Naga was seen in the role of ‘Balraju Bala Bodi’, an Indian Army officer and a colleague of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
For the unversed, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is the Hindi adaptation of the Oscar-winning film ‘Forrest Gump’.
Naga Chaitanya reveals the reason behind working in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’
In a conversation with Mirchi 9, Naga said that Laal Singh Chaddha gave him the opportunity to work with Aamir Khan for more than five months, which is an experience to remember forever.
He said, “The main reason for me to do that project was to travel with Aamir sir. As an actor, I wished I get to travel with him for just 2 days to learn from him. I walked into the project with this mindset. But I got to work with him for 5-6 months. There was a lot of honesty, even in the way Aamir sir was working.”
He added, ““I have no regrets at all. It’s unfortunate that the movie didn’t work out but I came out as an evolved person, both professionally and personally. It’s because of what he taught me.”
Apart from Aamir Khan and Naga Chaitanya, Laal Singh Chaddha, which was released in August last year, also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh in pivotal roles. Directed by Advaitya Chandan, the film could not show any wonder at the box office.
