Nayanthara-Vignesh surrogacy case: Report say no rules were broken by the star couple

Nayanthara-Vignesh surrogacy case: Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan welcomed twin boys through surrogacy. They announced the good news on social media on October 9. Their announcement started a row over possible surrogacy law violations. The Tamil Nadu government ordered an inquiry after the birth of their sons. A panel was set up by the Ministry of Health Tamil Nadu to do an inquiry into the surrogacy issue of actress Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan.

Health Minister says, “A panel had been appointed to find out if the surrogacy was legal or not.” The panel headed by two pediatric doctors, today a report was submitted to the health department. The report stated that Nayanthara and Vignesh Sivan got legally married on March 11, 2016. They had also followed all the process and guidelines for surrogacy.

The report suggests that that couple had submitted all the necessary documents needed by the inquiry commission and all the guidelines were followed per ICMR rules. The surrogate mother is a married woman. In August 2020, the embryo was formed at the hospital and the necessary documents with the surrogate mother were signed. The embryo was planted inside the surrogate mother in March 2022 and she delivered twin baby boys.

The documents regarding this surrogacy were not maintained by the hospital. A notice has been sent to the hospital for not following the guidelines. The notice demands explanation from the hospital on why they should not temporarily closed the hospital.
