Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has sparked a big online debate after his strong comments on comedian Samay Raina went viral. The actor, best known for playing Shaktimaan, criticised Raina in a sharp social media post. He compared him to a “dog’s tail” and questioned his style of comedy.

Mukesh Khanna Slams Samay Raina
Khanna accused Raina of continuing controversial content despite earlier backlash. In his social media post on April 9, 2026, he used the Hindi phrase “Kutte ki dum” to describe Samay Raina. He suggested that the comedian cannot change his nature, even after facing criticism.
Sharing his post, Khanna wrote, “Kutte ki dum tedhi rehti hai. Use lakh sheeshiyon mein rakho. Bahar nikaalo, phir tedhi ki tedhi!! Samay Raina ki bhi ek dum hai. Kitna bhi maaro, seedha karo, wo wapas tedhi ho jaati hai. Kyunki wo seedha saada prani nahi hai. Wo roasted prani hai, gandagi ki aag mein jalaya hua, pakaya hua. Poore desh ne lataada, maara. Phir aa gaya besharmon ki tarah aur maar khaane.”
He further added, “Ab ek hi cheez baaki hai. Uska muh kaala kar gadhe par bitha kar desh bhar ke shehron mein, galiyon mein uski parade karni chahiye, jahan bachche usko ande, tamatar maarein. Kyunki usne unke super hero Shaktimaan ka apmaan kiya hai.”

After the post went viral, social media users shared mixed reactions. Many felt the comments were too harsh, while others supported Mukesh Khanna’s emotional connection with Shaktimaan.
One user wrote, “Sir, Samay Raina is a comedian and his job is to roast. There’s no need to take it so personally. Shaktimaan is a memory from our childhood, but a joke made about him doesn’t make your personality any smaller.”

Raina also spoke about the backlash he faced. He said, “Sab aa gaye the khane humko – politician, celebrities, Sunil Pal,” adding that he was advised to learn from Kapil Sharma.
Taking a dig at Mukesh Khanna, he joked, “Shaktiman aa gaya tha yaar. Shaktiman se kaise ladenge?”
He also revealed that he received support from Pakistan after India’s Got Latent was removed.
