The Bihar government on Tuesday recommended investigation by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

Now Chief minister Nitish Kumar said that the decision was taken after Sushant’s father met the state police chief.

“The DGP spoke to Sushant Singh Rajput’s father this morning and he gave consent for CBI inquiry. So now, we are recommending CBI probe in the matter,” said Kumar.

Sushant’s father K.K Singh had also met Kumar seeking CBI investigation in the case. Also Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed before the Bombay high court in this regard. Now, the hearing was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, but has been postponed due to heavy rain in Mumbai.

Lok Janshakti Party leader Chirag Paswan also requested Nitish Kumar to transfer the case to CBI without further delay. Paswan had said that LJP leaders, had informed him that on August 5 that the Supreme Court will hear a petition seeking transfer of the case from Bihar to Mumbai.

Meanwhile, actor Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde has claimed she was not allowed to attend Sushant Singh Rajput’s funeral and her name was struck off a list of 20.

“Rhea Chakraborty has always been living in Mumbai. She was in Mumbai on 14 June 2020. She was not allowed to attend the funeral of Sushant as her name was struck off from the list of 20,” Maneshinde told ANI.

“Her statement was recorded there. Subsequently, she was summoned to appear on July 17 at Santacruz Police Station. She appeared and recorded her supplementary statement,” he added.
