No drugs found on Aryan Khan, NCB officer tells court

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) told the court on Monday that Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan’s son, who was arrested in connection with the Mumbai cruise drug case on Sunday, had no drugs with him. While seeking Aryan Khan’s further custody, the investigating officer (IO) confirmed that no illegal drugs were found from him.

The NCB had earlier said that there was material in the form of WhatsApp chats against the three, allegedly ‘showing nexus with peddlers and suppliers on regular basis.

Representing Aryan Khan in court, advocate Satish Maneshinde argued that the 23-year-old was a “special invitee” to the party on board Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship.

Aryan, along with seven others, was arrested by the NCB on Saturday. A court in Mumbai has now granted the NCB custody of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmum Dhamecha, and five others till October 7. Seeking bail on behalf of Aryan Khan, advocate Satish Maneshinde argued in court, “Khan was a special invitee as a member of Bollywood. The party organizers have also been intercepted. They are all connected.”

Under the Act, possession of up to one kg is termed “small quantity” of cannabis, while a seizure of over 20 kg is considered a “commercial quantity”. For charas/hashish, the Act says a small quantity is up to 100 gm while a commercial quantity is one kg or more.

As per the arrest memo of the NCB, a seizure of 13 grams of cocaine, five grams of MD, 21 grams of charas, and 22 pills of ecstasy, and Rs 1.33 lakh in cash was made after the raid on the ship.
