No interim protection but 3-day notice to Wankhede’s plea: Bombay High Court

The Bombay High Court has disposed a petition filed by NCB officer Sameer Wankhede seeking the interim protection from arrest in extortion allegation in Mumbai cruise drugs case.

The government’s lawyer said they would give prior notice of 72 hours before arrest if any case was filed.

“The government pleader states that three working days notice will be given before arrest. This statement made by the public prosecutor will suffice for this petition. This writ petition is disposed of. Needless to state, we have not commented on the merits of the case,” the Bombay High Court said.

Wankhede, the investagator of the alleged drug bust case invloving Aryan Khan- Shah Ruk Khan’s sone also sought that the case to be transfered by Maharashtra government to CBI.

“The court should direct that all/any FIR(s) filed or proposed to be filed by the state of Maharashtra against the petitioner in relation to the allegations of corruption be investigated by the CBI or NIA given the malice, mala fides and ulterior motives of the political party in power in the state of Maharashtra,” the petition by Sameer Wankhede said.
