Nora Fatehi and rapper Badshah have released their new track “Sajan Re.” The high-energy song comes at a time when both artists are facing scrutiny over previous releases.
Produced by Bangladeshi-American EDM artist Sanjoy, the track marks the start of Nora Fatehi’s “I-Pop era”, a project blending Indian pop with international electronic sounds. Sharing the video online, Nora wrote, “The start of my Ipop era. Sajan Re is officially out.”
Netizens REACT As Nora Fatehi And Badshah Drop ‘Sajan Re’
The release of “Sajan Re” has sparked reactions online. Some fans praised its catchy beats and vibrant choreography, while others referenced the controversies surrounding both artists.
Reacting to it, a user wrote, “2 songs ban hone ke baad bhokhla gaye ho kya.”
Another commented, “Was he (Badshah) not banned from singing?”
A third user said, “Chaapri samaz main diwali ka mahol.”
One more shared, “Hamesha ak jaisi step karte ho boring.”
The current track is seen as a reunion reminiscent of their earlier hits like “Garmi” and “Zaalim”.
Controversy Surrounding The Duo
Nora Fatehi recently faced backlash over her song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” from Sanjay Dutt‘s film KD: The Devil, which was removed from YouTube in March 2026 due to “highly vulgar” lyrics. Authorities, including the National Commission for Women, summoned her. Nora later said she was unaware of the explicit Hindi translation, which was intended as a double entendre about alcohol.
Meanwhile, Badshah faced legal trouble for his Haryanvi song “Tateeree”, which led to an FIR and an arrest order over “obscene” lyrics and visuals featuring minors. He apologised and removed the track but reportedly received a death threat linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Adding to the controversies, the Delhi High Court recently banned the nearly 20-year-old track “Volume 1” by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah, calling it “grossly vulgar” and shocking to the conscience of the court.
