O Romeo Box Office Collection Day 1: Shahid Kapoor returns to the big screen with O Romeo (his fourth collaboration with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj). The violent romantic drama set in Mumbai’s underworld was released yesterday amid strong buzz.

Fans were eager to see Shahid and Triptii Dimri together after Shahid-Vishal’s previous successful films. Read on to know how the film performed on its first day!

O Romeo Box Office Collection Day 1

O Romeo box office collection Day 1 shows a modest start rather than a blockbuster opening. Trade tracker Sacnilk reported Rs 8.25 crore net on the first day. While respectable, it fell short of the anticipated double-digit figure. The turnout suggests cautious audience interest, though early signs hint at potential growth over the weekend.

On its opening day, O Romeo recorded a Hindi occupancy of 14.86%. Morning shows began at 8.63%, rising to 12.17% in the afternoon and 13.66% in the evening. Night shows saw a sharp jump to 24.97%, indicating growing interest as the day progressed.

The film played across over 4,800 shows nationwide. Delhi-NCR had 14.25% occupancy, hosting the highest number of screenings, while Mumbai showed stronger traction at 19%. Industry experts suggest the increase in night shows could help the film’s weekend performance if positive word of mouth spreads.

How O Romeo Compares To Shahid Kapoor’s Recent Films

Compared to Shahid Kapoor’s recent releases, O Romeo has performed better. Deva opened at Rs 5.5 crore, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha at Rs 6.7 crore and Jersey earned Rs 3.2 crore on Day 1. With Rs 8.25 crore, O’Romeo surpasses these films but remains below Shahid’s career hit Kabir Singh, which collected Rs 20.21 crore on opening day.

Among Shahid–Vishal Bhardwaj collaborations, O Romeo tops the list. Rangoon opened at Rs 5.1 crore, Haider at Rs 6.02 crore, and Kaminey at Rs 4.21 crore. It is also Vishal Bhardwaj’s highest opening-day collection to date. Triptii Dimri’s previous releases, Dhadak 2 (Rs 3.5 crore) and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video (Rs 5.5 crore), were outperformed as well.

FilmDay 1 Box Office Collection (Rs crore)
O RomeoRs 8.25 cr (Highest opener for Shahid-Vishal film)
HaiderRs 6.02 cr
RangoonRs 5.1 cr
KamineyRs 4.21 cr

Despite this, the film trails last year’s tragic romances like Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat (Rs 9 crore) and Tere Ishk Mein (Rs 15.25 crore). Mixed reviews make the weekend crucial, as strong word of mouth could boost collections while negative feedback may limit growth.
