She is welcomed by the staff, and one of them tries to apply a tilak, which is a usual gesture of respect. But Shilpa politely refuses and says, “Mai Indian hoon.” She then walks inside as the staff member gives a polite smile.

Shilpa Shetty Trolled For Refusing Tilak

The video has triggered debate online. Many users found her reaction strange. One user joked, “Ham England se hain.” 

Another said, “Indian h to tilak lgwane m kya problem thi.” 

A third user asked, “To tilak Pakistani lagate hai kya?” 

Some people joked that she avoided the tilak to protect her makeup or outfit. A user said, “Fashion kharab ho jayega tilak lagayegi to.”

While a few fans stood up for her, saying it might be her personal choice, many felt her action didn’t match her statement. They found it odd to refuse a cultural gesture while saying she is Indian.

Shilpa Visits Salasar Balaji Temple

Meanwhile, Shilpa recently visited the famous Salasar Balaji Temple in Rajasthan. She offered prayers at the sacred dhuni of Mohandas Maharaj and had darshan of Balaji Maharaj.

She also tied a sacred thread, praying for the success of the film industry. The rituals were led by temple priests Rakesh Pujari, Krishna Pujari, Naveen Pujari, and Sanjay Pujari. Fans at the temple were thrilled to see her and clicked photos. Her temple visit pictures were shared online and received positive responses.

On the work front, Shilpa was last seen in Nikamma (2022) and Sukhee (2023), but both didn’t do well at the box office. She is now looking forward to her next film, KD The Devil, which also stars Sanjay Dutt. The teaser has already created buzz, especially after her savage reply to the recent language controversy during a promotional event.
