Palak Tiwari clarifies her remark on Salman Khan’s dress code for women on sets, says THIS

Palak Tiwari will be seen making her big Bollywood debut with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, headlined by Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde. Palak is currently promoting the film and recently made a remark about Salman Khan, which attracted mixed reactions. She has now issued a clarification.

Palak Tiwari’s clarification on Salman Khan remark

Palak Tiwari will feature in Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. She was previously an assistant on the sets of Salman’s Antim. Recently, in an interview, Palak revealed that Salman has asked all the girls to dress properly on his shoot and warned them against wearing low necklines.

The remark did not land well with a section of netizens who schooled the superstar, saying men should be held accountable for their actions.

After the frenzy on the internet, she has now issued a clarification. In her post, she wrote, “It’s really been misunderstood. All I wanted to say is that I have put certain guidelines for myself as to how to dress around people who are way senior to me, who have I pretty much grown up idolising. Salman sir is of course one of them.”

What Palak Tiwari said

Palak, during a recent interview, said that ‘Salman sir had a rule’ against women wearing low necklines on his sets. She also called him a traditionalist who tried to ensure safety of women working with him.

“When I was AD-ing with Salman sir on Antim, I don’t think many people know this, Salman Sir had a rule ‘Ki koi bhi ladki mere set pe, neckline should be here. So my mom saw me (going to set) in proper shirt, jogger and covered and all. She was like, ‘Where are you going? How are you dressed so well?’ I said I am going to Salman Sir’s set. She was like ‘Wow, very good’,” Palak told Siddharth Kannan.

Palak further added that Salman is a traditionalist, who tries to ensure the safety of the women who work with him. “He’s a traditionalist… Of course, he’s like ‘Jo pehenna hai pehno (wear what you like)’. But he’s always like ‘My girls should always be protected’. If there are men around, whom she doesn’t personally know, it’s not his personal space where he doesn’t trust everyone, he’s like, ‘the girl should be safe, always,” added the actress.
