Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic comedy Param Sundari continues its box office journey with mixed results. Despite drawing attention with its fresh pairing and light-hearted storyline, the film faced a sharp drop after its opening weekend. However, it managed to show a slight upward shift in collections on day 5.
Param Sundari Box Office Collection Day 5
According to Sacnilk, Param Sundari collected Rs 4.25 crore on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, which pushed its total India net collection to around Rs 34.25 crore. The film had earned Rs 30 crore in its first four days, including a solid Rs 10.25 crore on Sunday. But Monday saw a steep fall of nearly 68%, with collections slipping to Rs 3.25 crore.
The marginal growth on day five indicates some recovery, though it still lags behind Rajkummar Rao’s Bhool Chuk Maaf. That film, released earlier in May, had earned Rs 37.25 crore in its first five days. For now, Param Sundari is inching towards the Rs 40 crore mark but has not yet managed to surpass its competitor.
Occupancy trends across cities paint a varied picture. Jaipur recorded the highest overall occupancy at 24.33%, peaking in the afternoon and evening shows. The National Capital Region followed with a steady 18.33%, while Bengaluru (17.67%) and Mumbai (16%) maintained a respectable contribution, especially during prime hours.
Kolkata had an interesting curve, starting weak at 6% in the morning but jumping to 27% in the evening, showing strong support from working professionals post office hours. On the other hand, Surat (4.33%), Chandigarh (8.67%), and Bhopal (9.67%) remained low. Mid-range cities such as Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, and Chennai hovered between 11% and 14.67%, with evening screenings performing slightly better.
Param Sundari may not be a huge success, but it definitely won’t end up as a loss. It has already covered more than half its budget and needs around Rs 25-26 cr to cover its production cost. Anything after Rs 60 cr will be counted as profit.

About The Film
Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari brings a mix of romance, comedy, and cultural contrasts. The film stars Sidharth Malhotra as Param, a bold entrepreneur from Delhi who tries to prove his business idea by testing his own dating app. His journey takes an unexpected turn when he meets Sundari, played by Janhvi Kapoor, a traditional South Indian woman from Kerala.
The story blends modern-day ambition with old-world values, exploring how love and family expectations collide when two very different worlds come together. With its lively humour and cross-cultural backdrop, the film aims to strike a chord with young audiences while keeping its emotional core intact.
While Param Sundari has not beaten Bhool Chuk Maaf in the box office race so far, the slight growth on day five shows it still holds ground. Its weekday performance will be crucial in determining whether it sustains momentum or slips further.
For now, the film’s charm lies in its breezy storytelling and the chemistry between its lead pair, which continues to attract viewers in urban centres. Whether it can maintain this pace in the coming days remains to be seen.
