Unfortunately, he passed away at 3.30 am on March 24. The funeral arrangements have been made for today at Mumbai's Santacruz crematorium.

Actress Neetu Chandra, who worked with Sarkar in an advertisement for a TV channel, confirmed his passing. She was very close to the director and his sister Madhu, who had also cast her in a commercial for a footwear brand. Neetu received a text informing her of Sarkar's demise this morning, leaving her devastated.
Sarkar began his career as a filmmaker by directing brand commercials and popular music videos. He later made his debut as a feature film director with the critically acclaimed 'Parineeta' in 2005. He went on to direct several successful movies, and his contribution to the Indian film industry will always be remembered.
