Phone Bhoot Box Office: Katrina Kaif Starrer Attracts Lukewarm Response On Day 1

Phone Bhoot Box Office: The horror-comedy genre has been highly popular at the film office, whether it's a Stree or the more recent hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The freshly released Phone Bhoot, on the other hand, did poorly on its first day.

Trade experts that the Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter, and Siddhant Chaturvedi film earned between Rs 1.75 crore and Rs 2.25 crore. Despite being released in as many as 1400 screens, Gurmmeet Singh's directorial failed to impress, with barely 10-12% occupancy in the aforementioned screens.

Phone Bhoot is doing somewhat better than Janhvi Kapoor's Mili and Huma Qureshi-Sonakshi Sinha's Double XL, both of which failed to gross even Rs 1 crore at the box office. In fact, despite being a dubbed Hindi release, Rishab Shetty's Kantara is performing significantly better at the box office, according to sources.

According to trade reports, "The main release this week was Phone Booth and it opened to a dull 5-10% response with a decent release of 1300-1400 screens. The opening is low and the other problem for the film is that this genre does not grow like a concept drama. It will need huge growth on Saturday to stand a chance at the box office."

Only films that have anything to offer in terms of big-screen experience are doing well in cinemas, according to the present mood of the movie-going audience. In compared to other recent Bollywood releases, the Hindi-dubbed version of Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara is still doing well in theatres. Even the Diwali releases, Ram Setu and Thank God, are performing poorly in theatres.
