PM Modi Praises Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain For Winning Grammy Awards 2024: ‘These achievements are…’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expresses sincere congratulations to virtuoso musicians Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain for their incredible victory at the prestigious Grammy Awards 2024 in a momentous celebration of artistic excellence.

Indian musicians Shankar Mahadevan, Zakir Hussain, Rakesh Chaurasia, Selva Ganesh V, and Ganesh Rajagopalan made the country proud by winning the Grammy Awards 2024. They got this award in their nominated categories. The musicians were congratulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his X account on Monday. Among celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, the Indian musicians made the nation proud on Sunday by winning three Grammy Awards.

PM Narendra Modi Congratulates the Musicians

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter account to congratulate the talented citizens of India. He praised the musicians after winning the award. The PM wrote, “Congratulations @ZakirHtabla, @Rakeshflute, @Shankar_Live, @kanjeeraselva, and @violinganesh on your phenomenal success at the #GRAMMYs! Your exceptional talent and dedication to music have won hearts worldwide. India is proud! These achievements are a testament to the hardwork you keep putting in. It will also inspire the new generation of artists to dream big and excel in music.”

Grammy Winners

Two joint awards were given to Ustad Zakir Hussain and flautist Rakesh Chaurasia for their song Pashto and the album As We Speak, in which it is featured. Pashto, which includes Edgar Meyer and Bela Fleck, two American musicians, took home the trophy for Best Global Music Performance. One of the contenders in the category was the PM-featured Falu song Abundance in Millets. In the category of Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, As We Speak also took first place.

The Best Global Music Album for This Moment award went to Zakir’s supergroup Shakti as well. It was formed by British guitarist John McLaughlin, percussionist Vikku Vinayakram, and violinist L Shankar. They also include singer Shankar Mahadevan in their ranks.
