Police visits Ranveer Singh’s residence post naked photoshoot controversy

As a result of his naked picture session practically taking over social media, Ranveer Singh got all the attention. Social media has been ablaze with discussion concerning remarks made about this photo session. Many people from the industry spoke about this, in fact, Ranveer’s friends from the industry like Arjun Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and others even stood in support of him. But it looks like the trouble does not seem to end for the actor as he has been called for questioning by the Chembur Police station.

A police team on Friday visited the actor’s residence in Mumbai to issue him the summons but he was not at his residence. The actor will be back on August 16 and the team would come back on August 22, said an officer.

The case was registered on a complaint filed by a city-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).

The NGO had alleged that the actor hurt the sentiments of women in general and insulted their modesty by posting his nude photographs on social media platforms.

Late last month, the actor’s viral photo series for Paper magazine sent the internet into a tizzy. The photoshoot was a tribute to ’70s pop icon Burt Reynolds who also went nude in the 1972 shoot for Cosmopolitan magazine.

“It’s so easy for me to be physically naked, but in some of my performances I’ve been damn f****** naked. You can see my f****** soul. How naked is that? That’s being actually naked. I can be naked in front of a thousand people, I don’t give a s**t,” the actor, known for his quirky sartorial choices, told Paper Magazine.

Future projects for Ranveer Singh include Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Additionally, he will appear in the Rohit Shetty film Cirkus, which also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma.
