Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated film ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is doing wonders at the box office. Till now, the film has grossed above Rs. 300 crores and is very much liked by the audience. After a blockbuster hit in the theatres, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is soon going to release on OTT.
‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ release date announced
‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ will be released on a popular digital platform. Like its first installment ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is also expected to stream on Amazon Prime Video from May 26. If reports are to be believed, the film will be streamed on paid basis in the first week of its release. From June 2, the subscribers can avail this movie for free.
For the unversed, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’ was also shown on paid basis for a week after its release.
About ‘Ponniyin Selvan’
‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is a historical drama focusing on the Chola dynasty. The story of the film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same title. The film casts Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha and Jayam Ravi in lead roles. The film is directed by ace director Mani Ratnam. The film has been made in two parts. The first part of the film ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’ won the hearts of the audience and earned a record breaking amount at the box office. In the same way, the second part of the film ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is also earning tremendously at the box office and received lots of appreciation by the viewers.
