Actor and TV personality Pooja Bedi has always been outspoken, and her latest remarks show that she’s still unfiltered. In a new interview, she talked about her decision to skip the COVID-19 vaccine and shared a funny behind-the-scenes story from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar with Aamir Khan.
Pooja Bedi On Refusing The Covid-19 Vaccine
Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Pooja revealed that she didn’t take the vaccine during the pandemic. She also recalled how the decision brought her heavy trolling online. The actress said, “COVID crisis happened, right? And everyone was taking the vaccine. I questioned it and I said, ‘Why?’ And I did not take the vaccine. I refused to take the vaccine. And I’m so glad today that I didn’t take it.”
She added that many people now tell her it was the right call. Pooja added, “When you see the fallout of the vaccine, the number of vaccine deaths that are being reported, people dying of myocyitis and heart attacks and strokes and all sorts of things at ridiculously young ages. Today, people look at me and say – Pooja, you made the right decision. But I was trolled.”
Pooja said she was labelled an “anti-vaxxer” but didn’t let the criticism affect her. “Sticks and stones can break my bones. Names will never hurt, right? Makes no difference whatsoever. You’re entitled to your life, your body, your choices. My life, my body, my choices.”
She added that the pandemic taught her the value of questioning authority and thinking for oneself.
Pooja Bedi Recalls Aamir Khan’s ‘Perfectionist’ Moment
In the same chat, Pooja looked back on her time shooting the 1992 hit Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar with Aamir Khan. She said Aamir’s perfectionism often led to endless retakes, while she preferred working on instinct.
The actress said, “He was amazing. I remember, he gets better with every take, and I’m a spontaneous person. So I’m great with my first three takes. Aamir is just being better and better and better and better and better, right? So I’m like, wow.”
She described how one particular scene at Film City took around 15–20 takes under the blazing sun. Even after they thought it was perfect, Aamir wanted another take to adjust his cap. She told him, “We’ve got how many takes, and you were perfect in the last one. I’m not performing for your cap now. You know? So you perform again? For a cap?”
Though the moment tested her patience, Pooja said it also showed Aamir’s dedication. She called it “too sweet” because his focus on tiny details came from genuine passion. That’s what made him Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood.
