Power Rangers Fame Jason Frank Dies By Suicide At 49

Jason Frank Dead: The Power Rangers star passed away aged 49. Best known for playing Tommy Oliver in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers franchise, the actor reportedly died by suicide. "Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being," his rep told People magazine.

Power Rangers Actor Jason Frank Dead

Frank originally played the role of Green Ranger in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers which ran from 1993 to 1996. He later swapped to the White Ranger during the second season of the franchise. His character also appeared in Wild Force, Turbo, Zeo, Dino Thunder, Megaforce, and HyperForce. Other than Power Rangers, the actor is also known for his work in Sweet Valley High and We Bare Bears. In 2020, Frank began a campaign for his film Legend of the White Dragon. The film is currently in production, and is expected to hit the theatres by next year.

Power Rangers Pay Tribute

The official Twitter handle of the wildly popular 90s series paid a tribute to Jason Frank writing, "All of Ranger Nation is deeply saddened by the loss of Jason David Frank. JDF brought countless smiles to fans over the years and will be greatly missed. May the Power protect him, always."

Frank's co-star Amy Jo Jackson also mourned the demise and said, "[C]an't believe it. My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family. Jase, you were beautiful and truly unique. My life just won't be the same without your frenetic, hilarious, caring, driven and creative ball of energy. I will always love you, dear friend. Please Rest now in Peace."

"Can't believe it…. RIP Jason David Frank. My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family," Frank's co-star Walter E Jones said in a heartfelt tribute. Jones also spoke to People and said, "He was an inspiration to so many people. His presence will be dearly missed. It's so sad to lose another member of our Ranger family."
