Baahubali star Prabhas celebrates his 46th birthday today. The pan-India superstar stands at the start of a major comeback phase with a strong lineup of films that span multiple genres and languages.
From mythological sagas to horror comedies and patriotic dramas, Prabhas’s next few releases show his range and hunger to experiment again.
Prabhas’ Upcoming Projects
The Raja Saab
Prabhas’s next release is the much-delayed horror-comedy The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi. The film is now set for a Sankranthi release on January 9, 2026. It faced several delays due to post-production work and the actor’s injury during the shoot of Fauji.
Starring Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, and Nidhhi Agerwal, the film will see Prabhas in a quirky, romantic avatar. The film’s multi-language release is expected to kick off 2026 on a high note for South cinema’s favourite star.
Spirit
Next, Prabhas will appear in Spirit, a high-octane cop drama by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film will show him as a tough cop taking on an international crime syndicate. This will be a complete shift from his larger-than-life fantasy roles. Fans are expecting raw action and powerful emotion from this one, as Vanga aims to deliver another hard-hitting story after Animal.
Kalki 2898 AD Sequel
After the record-breaking success of Kalki 2898 AD, which grossed over Rs 1000 crore, fans are already hyped for its sequel. Director Nag Ashwin confirmed that filming will begin in mid-2025, aiming for a December 2026 release.
Prabhas will return as Bhairava, with his character getting a more intense arc. Reports suggest Kamal Haasan will play a major antagonist and the story could even be split into two parts.
Salaar Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam
Prabhas is also returning as Deva in Salaar Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, directed by Prashanth Neel. The sequel will continue the dark and gritty world built in Salaar Part 1 and is expected to be released in 2026. It’s part of Prabhas’s extended collaboration with Hombale Films, which reportedly includes multiple projects.
Fauji
Another big film in Prabhas’s upcoming slate is Fauji, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Though details are under wraps, it’s said to be a patriotic period action drama that will show him in a strong, emotional role.
