Priya Marathe, the actor best known for playing Varsha in the popular TV show Pavitra Rishta, passed away at the age of 38 after a long battle with cancer. She died at her home in Mira Road at 4 am on Sunday. Priya had been fighting cancer for over two years. She is survived by her husband, actor Shantanu Moghe.

Priya Marathe started her television career with Ya Sukhano Ya and appeared in many Marathi serials, including Char Divas Sasuche. Her first Hindi TV role was in Kasamh Se as Vidya Bali. She also took part in Comedy Circus.
She became widely known for playing Varsha, Ankita Lokhande’s sister, in Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV. Priya also appeared briefly in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain as Jyoti Malhotra and in the Marathi serial Tu Tithe Me. In 2017, she joined Saath Nibhaana Saathiya as Bhavani Rathod. Her work also included shows like Uttaran, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Savdhaan India, Bhaage Re Mann, and Jayastute.
Priya acted in the 2008 Hindi film Humne Jeena Seekh Liya and the Marathi film Ti Ani Itar, directed by Govind Nihalani, featuring Subodh Bhave, Sonali Kulkarni, Amruta Subhash, Bhushan Pradhan, and others.
Priya was married to actor Shantanu Moghe, known for playing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji. The couple shared a close bond and often supported each other’s work.
