Priyanka Chopra reminisces winning Miss World in 2000, says ‘I never expected to win’

Global icon Priyanka Chopra recently completed 20 years in the entertainment industry. On Friday, the actor took to Instagram to share the first milestone of her life – her journey of winning the Miss India Pageant 2000. Later that year, she was also crowned Miss World at the young age of 18.

Reacting to her dress, and answer, Priyanka shared a video on her Instagram and wrote: Femina Miss India, 2000. Alright guys, we’re doing this! I’m watching footage from my Miss India pageant in 2000! This is where it all began… If you’ve never seen these before, you are in for quite a treat. #20in2020 @missindiaorg”

“What am I wearing… first of all? What is this crown of thorns on my head?” was Priyanka’s reaction for the most part. “What’s with the hair? I had so much hair! When did I lose my hair?” she wondered.

Priyanka, also shared her final question at the Miss India peagent — “If you were God in the garden of Eden, who would you punish – Adam, Eve or Satan?” The 18-year-old Priyanka replied, “Evil is instigated, not created” and the 38-year-oldPriyanka of now reacted this way: “That’s pretty clever… so profound.”

While watching the first step of glorious career, Priyanka said: “That was crazy. I never, ever expected to win. I wasn’t supposed to. I had a train booked and I was supposed to go back and give my board exams. And I had a crown on my head. It was crazy. It’s been 20 years and I haven’t looked back up until now.”

Priyanka then blessed her fans with her young self’s photoshoots, and said, “These videos are nuts and hard to look at.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka has a number of project in her kitty. She recently announced a multi million-dollar first-look television deal’ with Amazon. Currently, she is working as a producer on a reality show Sangeet with her husband Nick Jonas. The other project is Russo Brothers’ multi-series project Citadel wherein she will seen sharing the screen with Richard Madden.
