Priyanka Chopra’s unforgettable dance number Ram Chahe Leela in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela became one of the most iconic performances of her career. But while the audience was wowed by her screen presence, the actress recently revealed that accepting the song wasn’t an easy decision.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Priyanka shared how saying yes to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s vision came with a lot of hesitation, intense rehearsals, and a deep creative process.
Priyanka Chopra On Ram Chahe Leela: What Really Went Behind The Scenes?
On Thursday, Priyanka took fans down memory lane with a throwback post. Reflecting on her time shooting Ram Chahe Leela, she opened up about the emotional and creative challenges she faced.
She wrote, "When Sanjay Sir came to me with this song, it was a complicated decision, but he as a filmmaker, has always inspired me.”
PeeCee praised his artistic eye and passion for storytelling. She added, "His creative mind, his nostalgic stories usually over incredible food, the conversations of art and music to dance… the beauty of the yesteryears, but also what the future holds. And then he played the song… and I knew I was her."
Ram Chahe Leela was shot in the second half of the film and showed Priyanka in a bold white saree delivering a powerful dance performance. The track was choreographed by Vishnu Deva, with vocals by Bhoomi Trivedi and lyrics by Siddharth-Garima. It was filmed by renowned cinematographer Ravi Varman.
Praising her team, Priyanka said, "Under Sanjay sir’s guidance, Ravi Varman’s cinematography shone, and Vishnu Deva was magic! He and I would rehearse during lunch breaks every day to perfect the dance sequences."

Released in 2013, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela featured Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Priyanka’s song marked a crucial turning point in the story and added emotional weight to the narrative.
Her performance in Ram-Leela led to another major collaboration with Bhansali in Bajirao Mastani (2015), where she portrayed Kashibai.
