Priyanka Chopra Looks Back At 2016
On Wednesday, Priyanka Chopra posted a carousel of throwback pictures from 2016 on Instagram. She wrote, “The one where everything happened all at once. 2016.”
The carousel opened with a proud moment of Priyanka receiving the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian awards. She then shared several professional highlights. These included her appointment as UNICEF’s Global Goodwill Ambassador, winning her first People’s Choice Award and making her debut appearance at the Oscars (all major firsts that marked her rise on the global stage).
She also shared a backstage photo with Vin Diesel, showing her early Hollywood collaborations. Another notable moment was her first White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where she met Barack and Michelle Obama.
Priyanka also shared behind-the-scenes shots from Quantico, her first global TV venture. Fun moments with Dwayne Johnson from Baywatch, group pictures from her Bollywood film Dil Dhadakne Do, and a snapshot from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon highlighted other firsts in her career.
At last, Priyanka included a family picture and revealed she lost her nani in 2016. She also revisited the armpit controversy from that year. When Maxim India allegedly photoshopped her armpits on their cover, naming her the “Hottest Woman in the World.” She took it in stride and posted a cheeky picture showing off her armpit with humour.
Reacting to her post, a user wrote, “Mic drop. Owned the trend.”
Another commented, “10 years and you still look the same.”
A third user said, “She had more achievements in just one year than people have in their entire career…kudos.”
