Amaal Mallik has stirred controversy with his latest claims about Bollywood’s dark side. In a recent interview with Mirchi Plus, the singer-composer compared Kartik Aaryan’s current struggles to the late Sushant Singh Rajput’s battles in the industry.

He said that powerful producers and actors are allegedly trying to sideline Kartik, just like what happened with Sushant. The comments have shocked Kartik’s fans and sparked fresh conversations about Bollywood’s toxic work culture.

Amaal Mallik On Bollywood’s Dark Reality

Opening up about the industry’s dark side, Amaal said, “The public has understood the reality of this industry… itni dark hai ki logo ki life chali gayi. Sushant Singh Rajput nahi handle kar paaye.” He reflected on the actor’s death and added,  “Jo bhi ho, aadmi toh chala gaya na,” whether it was suicide or something worse.

He didn’t hold back while calling out how the industry demoralises artists. The singer explained, “Iss industry ne hi kuch kiya hai unke mind pe ya unke soul pe. Ya logon ne saath main unko demoralise kiya. Yeh industry aisi jagah hai.”

Amaal said that Sushant’s death woke the public up to Bollywood’s toxic culture. “They said - Screw these guys. Yeh log gande log hain.” He pointed to how audiences turned against the industry after Sushant’s passing.

Kartik Aaryan Facing Industry Power Play?

Amaal believes Kartik Aaryan is facing similar problems today. He said, “Aaj aap dekho, vohi cheezein, indirectly ya directly Kartik Aaryan ke saath karne ka bhi try karte hain log. Voh bhi unhi problems se joojh ke, dance karte hue nikla hai, smile karte hue.”

He added that Kartik’s family has been his biggest support. “But uske peeche uske mummy, papa sab saath hain to support and guide him,” Amaal shared. He claimed that powerful names in the industry are still trying to push Kartik out. “Usko bhi 100 log hatane ke firaaq main chain. Power play karte hain. Sab kuch karte hain bade bade producers, actors.”

Talking about Sushant Singh Rajput, his sudden death in June 2020 left the entire country in shock. He was found dead in his Mumbai flat, and his death was ruled a suicide. No note was found, and there were no signs of foul play.

His passing triggered massive public anger and led to debates about mental health, nepotism, and the unfair treatment of outsiders in Bollywood. People demanded more support for struggling artists and called out the industry's harsh behaviour toward newcomers. Filmmaker Karan Johar was among those accused of sabotaging his career.
