Superstar Rajinikanth on Thursday announced his entry into politics. The actor addressing to media informed that he will launch his own political party in January, details of which will be shared on December 31.
"A political party will be launched in January; Announcement regarding it will be made on December 31st," the south Indian superstar said in a tweet.
"In the upcoming assembly elections, we will definitely win the assembly elections and give an honest, transparent, corruption free and spiritual politics without any difference to any religion or caste," he further said.
The thalaiva further recalled announcing to begin his political journey in 2017 which was halted due to his poor health.
Talking about the same, he told reporters, Rajinikanth said, "In 2017 I said I'll start a political party and contest in 2021 assembly elections. Doctors advised not to go to the ground for the trip before starting a political party because its important for me visit ground before starting a political party. This corona is a big problem. When I was bedridden, I got my life back because of your prayer. Now I don't mind even if I die. If I win, the victory is all yours."
Rajinikanth also shared that he met his district secretaries of RMM on Monday and told that he will soon make the big announcement related to his political career.
After his announcement, the superstar reportedly met DMK patriarch Karunanidhi to seek his blessings even as he had explained that he will not join any current political parties.
