Ram Setu: CM Yogi grants Akshay Kumar permission to shoot in Ayodhya

Akshay Kumar announced his new project Ram Setu on Diwali this year. According to latest reports, the actor is all set to start the shooting for the same. In his recent meeting with Uttar Pradesh CM, the actor reportedly discussed the story line of the film. Further, the reports suggested that the actor also asked UP CM for his permission to shoot in Ayodhya where the Ram Temple construction in underway. As informed by an close aide, the CM has happily granted permission to the actor to shoot in Ayodhya.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Akshay and director Abhishek Sharma wanted to shoot the film in the real location to give more realistic approach to the story. A source has further told that the shooting of the film will commence from Mid 2021.

“Set in today’s India, it’s the journey of the protagonist to discover if the Ram Setu is a myth or reality. Since Akshay and his director, Abhishek Sharma, want to present an accurate depiction, they want to shoot in real locations in the state, including Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. They want to kick off the film by mid-2021 in UP.” Well, if this turns out to be true, fans may get to see the real locations in Ayodhya related to Indian mythology,” Mumbai Mirror quoted the source as saying.

Meanwhile, Akshay, while sharing the first look teaser of the film, wrote: “This Deepawali, let us endeavor to keep alive the ideals of Ram in the consciousness of all Bharatiyas by building a bridge(setu) that will connect generations to come.Taking this mammoth task ahead, here is our humble attempt – RAM SETU! Wishing you & yours a very Happy Deepawali!”

Meanwhile, Akshay currently has a number of project in his pipeline. He is currently shooting for Atrangi Re after finishing the shoot of Bell Bottom. He also has Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey and Raksha Bandhan to look forward to.
