Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 hits theatres on November 5, and advance booking is building fast. Premium IMAX shows are selling well even at very high ticket prices.
Day 1 Advance Booking Numbers
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Day 1 advance sales were ₹39.40 crore gross as of Wednesday morning, or ₹33.36 crore excluding blocked seats. More than 10 lakh tickets have been booked across about 23,700 shows, at roughly 19% occupancy. Total India pre-sales across six show dates stand at ₹96.75 crore gross. Worldwide opening-weekend advance sales have crossed ₹100 crore.
DON'T MISS
IMAX Punches Above Its Weight
IMAX 3D contributed about 23.8% of Day 1 advance gross as of October 24, despite making up only 3.4% of scheduled shows. Some Mumbai IMAX shows sold out even though tickets were priced as high as ₹2,770.
How Expensive Are The Tickets?
Prices range from about ₹200 at single screens to a reported ₹3,170 for a PVR ICON IMAX recliner in Mumbai. Most buyers are paying around ₹500, with the average ticket price near ₹536. The top prices have drawn criticism online.
Karnataka And Bengaluru Lead
With Yash playing Ravana, Karnataka is the top state market, followed by strong numbers from Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. Bengaluru is the single biggest city for advance sales. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi plays Sita.
Will It Match The Biggest Openers?
Trade estimates vary. Advance sales are well behind this year’s biggest openers, and a pre-Diwali Thursday release means no festival-day boost on Day 1. Even so, Sacnilk projects a Day 1 India net of ₹110 crore or more across all languages. Advance bookings are not final collections, and walk-ins will decide the opening.
