Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana continues to dominate headlines as fresh comments from Yash about Ranbir Kapoor trigger a strong wave of reactions online. The Ramayana buzz has only grown after Yash spoke about his bond with Ranbir Kapoor during the global promotions of the film. While he praised the actor warmly, social media quickly turned the discussion into a heated debate over casting choices and expectations from the epic adaptation.
Ramayana Actor Yash On His Bond With Ranbir Kapoor
At Cinemacon, Yash shared details about working on Ramayana and clarified that he and Ranbir Kapoor do not share any screen space in the first part of the film.
In a conversation with Fandango, he explained, “Interestingly, we have never come together on screen in this film. As you all know, it’s a two-part film. So, in the first part, I think we have, as Ravana, I have my own kingdom, and Rama has his own kingdom.”
He also spoke about their off-screen interactions and mutual respect. Yash called Ranbir Kapoor a “fabulous” actor and highlighted that their creative vision aligns even without direct scenes together.
He added, “I think it is mutual respect which has played out. Chemistry is like, when you’re out to do something phenomenal, and it’s as ambitious as Ramayana, all of us have a single agenda: to give our best to present this story. I think our visions are aligned, so the chemistry’s not even an issue. We’re enjoying.”
Soon after Yash’s comments surfaced, social media platforms saw divided reactions over Ranbir Kapoor’s casting as Lord Rama. Some users questioned the decision, while others defended the film’s vision.
One user wrote, “Say whatever you want, RK as Lord Rama against Rocking star is totally unacceptable.”
Another commented, “Very wrong decision to cast Ranbir & Sai Pallavi as Shri Ram & Maa Sita.”
A third user quipped, “Only Yash will save Ramayan.”
Another added, “Pride of Kannada Cinema.”
