Ranbir Kapoor is handling two huge films at the same time. One is Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, which is planned as a two-part release for Diwali 2026 and 2027. The other is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, a romantic drama that already has fans excited. But a new update hints that Ramayana Part 2 may not arrive as per schedule.
Ramayana Part 2 Face Delays As Ranbir Kapoor Prioritises Love And War
A report by Deccan Chronicle claims that Ranbir had a clear plan in the beginning. He wanted to finish both parts of Ramayana first and then shift to Love and War. But the shoot for Ramayana kept getting delayed. The film is massive in scale, and each sequence is taking more time than expected. Because of this, Ranbir has now decided to give his dates to Bhansali’s film instead.
According to the report, a source shared that Ranbir wanted to wrap both parts of Ramayana before starting Love and War, but the shoot was nowhere near completion. So he had no choice but to move his schedule to Bhansali’s film. As a result, Ramayana Part 2 may not make it to theatres by the end of 2026.
If this report is true, fans waiting for the second instalment may need to be patient. The first part has reportedly completed its edit, but the second film could face delays.
About Both The Films
The cast of Ramayana is one of its biggest highlights. Ranbir Kapoor plays Ram, and Sai Pallavi will be seen as Sita. Yash from KGF takes on the role of Ravana. Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey plays Lakshman. Kajal Aggarwal steps in as Mandodari, and Rakul Preet Singh plays Surpanakha. The film also includes Arun Govil, Adinath Kothare, Kunal Kapoor, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan in important roles. With such a strong cast, expectations are naturally very high.
Meanwhile, Love and War stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal together for the first time. Fans are excited to see this trio on screen. The film also marks Ranbir’s return to working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 17 years. At an event earlier this year, Ranbir said that working on this film feels like a dream for any actor. He shared that Bhansali’s process can be long and tiring, but the final experience is deeply rewarding.
