Buzz around Don 3 has grown louder in recent days. Earlier, reports claimed Ranveer Singh had walked out of Farhan Akhtar’s much-awaited action franchise. Many linked his alleged exit to the massive success of Dhurandhar. This sparked fresh debate online and left fans confused.
However, a new update paints a very different picture. According to sources close to the project, the rumours doing the rounds are misleading. One insider stated that Ranveer Singh hasn’t walked out of Don 3 as the reports claimed.
In fact, the exit was not Ranveer’s decision at all. Sources say the actor was FIRED by the makers. The reason is said to be his “unreasonable demands” after Dhurandhar‘s success. The walkout theory has now been dismissed as entirely untrue.
Ranveer Singh FIRED From Don 3?
Sources familiar with the development shared more details. One source explained to India Today, “Ranveer Singh hasn’t walked out of Don 3 like the rumour mills claim. It’s actually an entirely different story.”
The insider also highlighted the timing of Ranveer’s casting. “To start with, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar offered him Don 3 after he had delivered three colossal flops. They stood by him even after Sanjay Leela Bhansali shelved Baiju Bawra because he was considered not saleable at the time.”
The source further added, “Don 3 is the hottest franchise, and Ranveer was stepping into the legendary shoes of not just Shah Rukh Khan, but also Amitabh Bachchan. It is a dream role for any actor. Farhan was the only filmmaker who put his trust in Ranveer when others had backed out. This was also at a time when Dhurandhar hadn’t even released.”
Recent reports had suggested that Ranveer became more selective after Dhurandhar. He was said to be keen on working with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Atlee. He was also reportedly avoiding back-to-back gangster roles. However, sources insist this had nothing to do with Don 3. They say that his removal happened due to differences over demands.
Netizens Suggest Bringing Back Shah Rukh Khan And Priyanka Chopra
Social media reacted strongly after news of Ranveer’s removal surfaced. Some users supported the actor. They felt asking for higher pay after a big hit was fair. Others believed the franchise could only be saved by bringing Shah Rukh Khan back.
Here’s what netizens had to say:
“I don’t find anything wrong in it. When Farhan behaves like opportunist with Ranveer, it’s totally fine to ask for a raise and exit when demands aren’t met.”
“Just cast SRK and PeeCee and make Gauri sit on the set like a hawk.”
“Bring SRK, that’s the only way that movie will be saved.”
“I’m pretty sure even Farhan would have spoken to Ranveer before signing him, asking him to reduce the fees, since Farhan is rebooting the franchise… So it’s fair on Ranveer’s part to now increase the fees as his standards are again high after giving a massive hit.”
As of now, Ranveer Singh’s exit has not been officially confirmed. Reports suggest Farhan Akhtar is looking for a new male lead. If that happens, Don 3 may face further delays.
