Keeravaani took to Twitter to express her gratitude, writing, “Much honoured by the civilian award from the Govt of India. Respect for my parents and all of my mentors from Kavitapu Seethanna garu to Kuppala Bulliswamy Naidu garu on this occasion.” The announcement comes just one day after 'RRR' was named to the official 95th Oscar nominees. The film's song, 'Naatu Naatu,' has officially entered the Oscar sweepstakes in the 'Best Original Song' category.
Naatu Naatu had previously won the Golden Globe for "Best Original Song." The song also won the Critics' Choice Award in the same category. The movie also won Critics Choice's award for "Best Foreign Language Film." The upbeat soundtrack for RRR was composed by Keeravaani, who also worked as MM Kreem in Hindi film, especially in the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s. Keeravani brought Hindi film music audiences some soulful tunes, such as "Tum mile dil khile" from Criminal, in contrast to the fast-paced "Naatu Naatu" (1995).
