Rohit Shetty House Firing: Mumbai was shaken by a serious security scare after shots were fired outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu. Police have registered an attempt-to-murder case following the incident, which took place in the early hours of Sunday. The firing has raised fresh concerns about celebrity safety and triggered intense discussion within the film industry.

According to Mumbai Police, unidentified assailants opened fire at Shetty Towers shortly after midnight. Investigators believe the attack was deliberate and planned. The case took a more serious turn after a social media account linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility. So far, 4 people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Rohit Shetty House Firing: What The FIR reveals

As reported by India Today, FIR gives a detailed account of how the incident unfolded. The complaint was filed by Rohit Shetty’s bodyguard (Swapnil Salunkhe, 31), who was on duty at the time. In his statement, Salunkhe said he was monitoring CCTV footage in the lobby around 12.45 am when he heard a loud sound that first seemed like a firecracker.

When he checked the surveillance feed, Salunkhe reportedly saw an unknown man near the compound wall along Road No. 10. The suspect was wearing a black jacket and white trousers and appeared to be firing towards the building with what looked like a pistol. The assailant allegedly fired five rounds before escaping towards Pushpa Park.

Another bodyguard (Waheed Malik) and a security guard rushed outside but failed to catch the shooter. A police bodyguard assigned to Shetty, Ashish Rane, was informed immediately. Local police reached the spot soon after and secured the area. Although no one was injured, bullets reportedly hit the first floor of the building, including the glass of an on-site gym. The Singham Again director and his family were said to be at home at the time but remained safe.

The FIR states that the complainant believes the firing was carried out with the intention of killing the filmmaker. This has pushed the investigation into a more serious direction. Police teams are now checking CCTV footage from nearby areas and tracking the escape route used by the attacker.

Rohit Shetty To Shoot Future Films With Two-Tier Security

As the probe expanded in Rohit Shetty house firing incident, the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested 4 people from Pune on Monday evening. Officials allege they helped the shooter and arranged the two-wheeler used in the crime. One of the wanted accused has been identified as Shubham Lonkar, who is said to have links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Lonkar has previously been named in other high-profile cases, including the 2024 murder of politician Baba Siddique. However, the shooter is still at large.

In the aftermath of the Rohit Shetty house firing, the filmmaker reportedly cancelled all work commitments and requested industry friends not to visit his home. Security around his residence has been increased, and authorities are planning a two-tier security setup for his future film sets as the investigation continues. The director is currently working on Rakesh Maria biopic with John Abraham and will move to Golmaal 5 next.
