The storyline of Baaghi
The story revolves around the life of Fouzia Batool, also known as Qandeel Baloch and the plot exposed the sexist and stereotypical mindset of families, specially those who in the name of ‘izzat’ opt for honour killing.
This Urdu drama aired in the year 2017 and revolves around the life of Fauzia (Played by Saba Qamar) who runs away from her home and marries the love with Abid, who is the owner of a cosmetic shop and promises to help Fauzia accomplish her dreams and desires, which are to make a name for herself in the big city. Soon after marriage, Abid loses Interest in Fauzia and starts an affair with some other woman. Knowing the truth, she is devastated and goes to Karachi in order to pursue Modelling.
Over there as well, she is exploited and in order to make a name for herself, she not only changes her name but also starts making videos and posts it in on her social media platform. Later Qandeel Baloch meets Shehryar (another man in the city) and not only decides to marry her but also leave the world of glamour.
This does not go down well with her brother and in rage as well as anger kills her, by drugging and strangling her!
‘Baaghi’ highlights the struggles of a girl in Pakistan who had to face a lot in order to achieve her dreams. But later fails in the process and is brutally murdered by her own family.
