The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested two people for allegedly framing actress Chrisann Pereria in connection with a drug-smuggling case. The actress has been lodged in a jail in UAE’s Sharjah. As per reports, the duo had planted drugs to get her imprisoned. Chrisann Pereira has been a part of movies like Sadak 2 and Batla House.
Mumbai Crime Branch arrests two Men in Case
The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested two people on charges of framing Bollywood actor Chrisann Pereira. She was deceived by the men who promised her a role in an international web series. The men sent her to Dubai ‘for an audition’ after multiple meetings in Mumbai.
The two accused have been identified as Anthony Paul from IC Colony Borivli, and Rajesh Bubhate also known as Ravi.
They reportedly gave her a trophy which was to be used in the audition. The authorities found out that the trophy had drugs. The actress was then arrested by the Sharjah Airport police. She has been lodged in a Sharjah Jail since April 1.

Why was Chrisann Pereria deceived?
Paul, one of the two accused, is the mastermind. He reportedly had a dead with Pereira’s mother, Premila. The Police said that Premila had a disagreement with Paul’s sister during covid-19 pandemic over non-compliance with guidelines related to pets in society. Paul’s sister was not happy with Pereira’s response ad also got into a fight with her during a visit to society.
The police, during the investigation, found out that Paul sought revenge against Premila by using Ravi to deceive Chrisann. When the actress arrived at the Sharjah airport, she realised that no hotel booking has been made in her name. She further informed her family about the trophy that she got from Ravi at Mumbai airport. The actress’ brother advised her to inform the authorise, but instead, they arrested her for smuggling drugs into the UAE. She has been lodged in the jail since then.
Meanwhile, Paul and his aide have also been accused of framing a DJ with the same tactics. They gave him drugs on a cake.
