Mohit Suri (the director of Aashiqui 2) is back in the news with his upcoming film Saiyaara. Fans have been waiting to see if he will return for Aashiqui 3, but he has now shared why that might not happen.

In a chat with Filmygyan, Mohit was asked if he would bring back Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor for the next part. With a smile, he said, “I think you would have to ask the producers. They don’t want to employ me.” He added, “I would love to make a film with this lead, but I have to find a good script. Aashiqui ka burden mere sir pe gir raha hai.”

Director Mohit Suri On Aashiqui 3 Challenges And More

Mohit said it’s hard to come back unless the script is even better than Aashiqui 2. He admitted, “It’s difficult.”

While writing Saiyaara, he focused on real, deep love. “When I was writing the film, I was talking about that phase where you're discovering love and your profession. I’m not talking about puppy love, but deep first love.”

He shared that not many people believed in the script at first. “At that time, nobody was ready to take this kind of script. Everyone wanted big, starry films post-COVID,” he said. To get the film made, Mohit even suggested some known actors. But Aditya Chopra told him, “You’ll make the film, and my marketing team will be happy. But the film won’t work if it’s made with established actors, because your film is about first love.”
