Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about films this year. After the teaser dropped last month, many compared it to his 2013 hit Aashiqui 2.

But with the trailer now out, all eyes are on debut actors Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The film, backed by Yash Raj Films, promises a mix of anger, romance, and heartbreak that feels raw and fresh.

What’s In Ahaan Panday's Saiyaara Trailer?

In the trailer, Ahaan plays Krish Kapoor, an intense and rebellious singer who is fed up with the fake shine of fame. He makes his presence felt in the opening scene itself as he thrashes a music critic and calling out the industry for celebrating influencers over real artists. His dialogue about blue-tick celebrities sneezing melodiously shows how bold and angry his character is.

To put it in simple terms, Krish is more aggressive version of Aditya Roy Kapur in Aashiqui 2. He’s angry, emotional, and driven. On the other hand, Aneet plays Vaani, a lyricist who walks into the messy world of music with clear boundaries. She tells Ahaan that she just wants to write songs, not deal with late nights, passive smoking, or tantrums. Their love story kicks off with sweet moments and romantic cityscapes, but soon spirals into heartbreak. One intense moment even shows Vaani threatening Krish with a knife.

But like most Mohit Suri love stories, pain fuels success. After the breakup, Krish finds fame, but a voice warns him not to destroy himself in the name of love.

Is This The Bollywood Love Story We Needed?

Unlike some recent star-kid debuts that fell flat, like Veer Pahariya in Sky Force, Aman Devgn and Rasha Thadani in Azaad, Saiyaara seems to have clicked with audiences. Viewers are loving Ahaan’s raw energy and Aneet’s calm presence. The music has stayed true to Mohit Suri’s signature style and already getting a big thumbs up.

Director Mohit Suri revealed in a statement that he nearly gave up on Saiyaara. He said he wasn’t finding fresh faces with the acting depth needed for this film. But things changed when Yash Raj Films introduced him to Ahaan and Aneet.

He shared that he wouldn’t have made the film without them. In fact, before meeting them, he was ready to move on to another project. But after seeing their auditions and spending time understanding their emotional depth, he was convinced they could carry the story.

As Saiyaara gears up for release on July 18, Bollywood may finally get a Gen Z love story that speaks to today’s audience. However, let’s wait for the full film to arrive to decide that.
