Salman Khan's sister Arpita Khan lodges FIR after her diamond earrings get stolen, accused arrested

Salman Khan's younger sister Arpita Khan's house in Khar was burgled on Tuesday night (May 16), for which she lodged a complaint to the Mumbai Police Station. In the FIR, Arpita told that her diamond earrings worth 5 lakhs were stolen from the house. The police have arrested the culprit and have also taken the stolen earrings from him.

Arpita's house help commits theft

According to India Today, Arpita stated in the FIR that her diamond earrings were worth Rs 5 lakh and she had kept them in her make-up tray from where they went missing.

The 30-year-old thief was a house help in Arpita's house and lived in a slum in Vile Parle East. The police caught the culprit and recovered the earrings from him on the same night when the incident took place. The criminal has been sent to the police custody and has been accused of IPC section 381 (theft by servant).

The accused along with 11 other persons used to work at Arpita's house in Khar. He was working in Arpita's house for the last 4 months. After committing the theft, he went missing without informing anyone.

According to PTI, an official of Khar police station gave his statement. He said, “Accused Sandip Hegde decamped with diamond-studded gold jewellery worth around ₹5 lakh from Arpita Khan's residence located on 17th Road in Khar. After the incident came to light, Arpita approached the police and lodged a complaint."

He further said, "With the help of technical and other inputs, the police nabbed the accused on Tuesday from Thane for the alleged theft of the jewellery."

For the unversed, Arpita Khan is the adopted daughter of Bollywood's famous script writer Salim Khan. She is the youngest child in the Khan family. Arpita married actor Aayush Sharma on November 18, 2014 in the presence of family and friends. Both have two children named Ahil and Ayat.
