Sandeep Reddy Vanga SKIPPED Crucial Football Scene In Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy, Director Shares Prabhas’ Spirit Update

Vijay Deverakonda, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Gowtam Tinnanuri recently joined a podcast to talk about their upcoming projects, including Kingdom and Spirit. The chat gave fans a closer look at what went into making these films and the intense experiences behind the scenes.

Vijay Deverakonda’s Transformation In Kingdom

In Kingdom, Vijay plays a strong and rugged character set in a fictional, military-ruled Sri Lankan region. Director Gowtam Tinnanuri shared that the team began filming in 2023, took a short break, and resumed shooting later. He said, “The gap helped. Vijay came back bulked up with a completely different look. We created 3-4 distinct styles, including a jail sequence look, which was superb.”

That jail sequence was shot in a 200-year-old abandoned prison in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Gowtam added, “The mossy, green textures of the place made it ideal. We filmed a 13-minute scene in the rain. It was intense but full of energy.”

Vijay, known for giving his all, revealed he even shot barefoot for some action scenes. He shared, “Yes, I had to do some action scenes barefoot, even on one leg. Though I was soaked all day, the energy from the place made it totally worth it.”

Sandeep Reddy Vanga On Skipped Scene In Arjun Reddy And Prabhas' Spirit

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who directed Arjun Reddy, opened up about a key scene they couldn’t film. He said, “We wanted to shoot a football scene in the rain, but skipped it since I was the producer. We ended up filming that part in Hyderabad.” Gowtam then revealed that Jersey’s climax was shot at the same ground where Arjun Reddy had its fight scene.

Sandeep also gave a fresh update on his next film, Spirit, starring Prabhas. The shoot will begin by the end of September. Triptii Dimri will now play the female lead after Deepika Padukone's controversial exit.

Kingdom Release Date And More

For the unversed, Kingdom will hit theatres on July 31 with trailer release today. Bhagyashri Borse stars as the female lead. The film is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas and presented by Srikara Studios.

The music is by Anirudh Ravichander. Cinematography is handled by Jomon T John and Girish Gangadharan. Editing is done by Navin Nooli, with Avinash Kolla as production designer.
