Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardaar Ji 3 is making headlines not just for its laughs and ghosts, but for smashing the global box office without an India release. The horror-comedy sequel dropped in international markets on June 27, 2025, and pulled in USD 2.1 million in its opening weekend alone. The film made a historic start in Pakistan, earning PKR 12.75 crore (USD 450K) from just 45 screens. By Monday, its global total hit USD 3 million.

Due to Indo-Pak tensions, the film wasn’t released in India. But that didn’t stop it from booming abroad. It grew in Canada on Monday, rare for a Punjabi film, and showed strongholds in Australia and the UK. With this pace, Sardaar Ji 3 is on track to become one of the top three international hits in Punjabi cinema.

Interestingly, Diljit’s Jatt and Juliet 3 made USD 7.25 million without Pakistan market. Now, Sardaar Ji 3 might challenge that, boosted by its controversial casting. Pakistani star Hania Aamir’s presence had sparked debate, but that buzz likely helped draw global viewers to cinemas.

Diljit Dosanjh returns as Jaggi, the lovable ghost-hunter, now on a spooky mission in a haunted UK castle. This time, the ghost-busting comes with a twist: he’s caught in a messy love triangle with Neeru Bajwa’s Pinki and Hania Aamir’s Noor, a fellow ghost chaser.

Sardaar Ji 3 cast also includes Gulshan Grover, Manav Vij, Sapna Pabbi, and Nasir Chinyoti, adding layers of humour and suspense. Though Indian fans can’t catch it in theatres for now, the international crowd is clearly enjoying this haunted rom-com ride.
